This was a tough year. Usually we have trouble narrowing our choices down to 20, but this year, it was a task to come up with 20. Maybe in the future, 2009 will be viewed as a transitional year with some really great releases, but not a very strong overall field. Or maybe the best releases of 2009 haven't been discovered yet. Whatever the situation, as of December 2009, these 20 releases were our favorites of the year. So, enjoy our favorite 20 albums of the year (plus our 2 favorite re-issues)!
